Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4064-81-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,0,6 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4064-81:
(6*4)+(5*0)+(4*6)+(3*4)+(2*8)+(1*1)=77
77 % 10 = 7
So 4064-81-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Reduction of 5-alkyl-5-nitro-1,3-diheterocycloalkanes by sodium alcoholates

, p. 1635 - 1638 (2007/10/02)

In the reaction of 5-alkyl-5-nitro-1,3-diheterocycloalkanes containing oxygen and nitrogen as heteroatoms with sodium alcoholates in the corresponding alcohol 5-alkyl-1,3-diheterocycloalkanes, the corresponding aldehydes (or ketones), and diols are formed.A mechanism is proposed for the formation of the reaction products, including the stage of one-electron transfer from the alcoholate to the nitro group of the 5-alkyl-5-nitro-1,3-diheterocycloalkane.
