Used in Textile Industry:
Disodium 5-chloro-2-[4-chloro-1-(sulphonatooxy)-2-naphthyl]-7-methoxy-4-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl sulphate is used as a dye for the textile industry. Its blue to navy blue color and solubility in water make it suitable for coloring fabrics. disodium 5-chloro-2-[4-chloro-1-(sulphonatooxy)-2-naphthyl]-7-methoxy-4-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl sulphate's fastness properties, such as ironing fastness, chlorine bleach, light fastness, and oxygen bleach, ensure that the color remains vibrant and resistant to various conditions.
Used in Stain Removal:
disodium 5-chloro-2-[4-chloro-1-(sulphonatooxy)-2-naphthyl]-7-methoxy-4-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl sulphate is also used in the development of stain removal products. Its ability to withstand various conditions, such as mercerized and soaping, makes it an effective ingredient in formulas designed to remove stains from fabrics.
Preparation
(a) in the presence of Pyridine , with Chlorosulfonic acid treatment C.I. Vat Blue 8 leuco; (b) in the Pyridine with metal (such as copper, iron, zinc, etc) and Sulfur trioxide source (such as Sulfur trioxide, Chlorosulfonic acid or Methyl chlorosulfonate, etc.) processing ?C.I. Vat Blue 8. The above two kinds of situation after alkaline, filter out insolubles, remove Pyridine and salting out.
