Description
BAM (8-22), also known as BAM8-22 trifluoroacetate salt, is a peptide derived from the larger BAM22 protein. It has been studied for its potential applications in various fields, particularly in the context of pain management and cancer research.
Uses
Used in Pain Management:
BAM (8-22) is used as a research tool for studying the functions of Mas-related gene (Mrg) C in the pathogenesis and treatment of bone cancer pain (BCP). By understanding the role of MrgC in pain perception, BAM (8-22) may contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for managing pain associated with bone cancer.
Used in Cancer Research:
In the field of cancer research, BAM (8-22) is utilized to investigate the underlying mechanisms of bone cancer pain and its potential as a therapeutic agent. This application aims to improve the quality of life for cancer patients by addressing the significant issue of pain associated with the disease.
Biochem/physiol Actions
BAM8-22 is a selective agonist for the sensory neuron specific G-protein coupled receptors (SNSRs). BAM8-22 inhibits development of morphine tolerance in rats. BAM8-22 is inactive at opioid receptors. Also, BAM8–22 is a potent activator of Mas-related G-protein-coupled receptors (Mrgprs), MrgprC11 and hMrgprX1. BAM8-22 produces itch and nociceptive sensations in humans in a histamine-independent manner.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 412961-36-5 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 4,1,2,9,6 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 412961-36:
(8*4)+(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*9)+(4*6)+(3*1)+(2*3)+(1*6)=135
135 % 10 = 5
So 412961-36-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
