PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a stabilizer having such a property that when added to a liquid crystal composition and used for manufacturing a display element, a burn-in phenomenon is less likely caused, and to provide a production method of a liquid crystal composition containing the stabilizer, and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element using the composition. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a production method of a compound having a hindered phenolic structure and a dioxane structure, the method including an acetalization reaction in the presence of a Lewis acid. The present invention also provides a production method of a liquid crystal composition containing the above compound, and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element using the above composition.
