Penta(phenoxy)chlorocyclotriphosphazene reacts with "(hydroxy)"phosphazenes, N3P3(OPh)5(OH) (2), N3P3(OMe)5(OH) (3) and gem-N3P3(NHBut)2(OMe)2(OH) (4) to give P-O-P bridged cyclophosphazenes, 2O (5), O (6) and Ot)2(OMe)3> (7) respectively.The products are characterised by IR and NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.The P-O-P bridge of compound 5 is readily cleaved by various nucleophiles.
