Titanium chloride tri-n-butoxide, also known as titanium(IV) butoxide or titanium butylate, is a chemical compound with the formula Ti(OBu)4. It is a colorless, viscous liquid that is soluble in organic solvents. TITANIUM CHLORIDE TRI-N-BUTOXIDE is widely used as a catalyst in the production of various polymers, such as polyamides, polyesters, and polycarbonates. It is also employed in the synthesis of other titanium-containing compounds and as a coupling agent in the preparation of composite materials. Due to its reactivity with moisture and air, titanium chloride tri-n-butoxide must be stored and handled under an inert atmosphere to prevent hydrolysis and decomposition.
