Properties of Monoazopigments Containing Heterocyclic Amide Groups.

, p. 70 - 74 (2007/10/07)
In the reported experiments, two groups of monoazopigments containing phthalimide of naphthalimide radicals and their N-methyl- and N-phenylderivatives were synthetized. Melting points and resistances against organic solvents of the pigments were determined. On the ground of comparison of properties of pigments containng N-substituted and non-substituted imide groups a hypothesis has been advanced that the reason of unexpected thermal resistance and low solubility of the latter group of pigments is their self-association by hydrogen bonds. The hypothesis has been confirmed by infrared spectrum analysis.
