4301-50-2 Usage

Uses

Used in Agriculture:
FLUENETIL is used as an acaricide for controlling and eliminating mites and ticks that infest crops and livestock. It was particularly effective in protecting plants from damage caused by these pests, ensuring a healthy and productive agricultural yield.
Used in Pest Control:
In the past, FLUENETIL was used as an insecticide to control and eliminate a variety of insects that could cause damage to crops, gardens, and stored food products. Its effectiveness in controlling these pests made it a valuable tool in integrated pest management strategies.

Air & Water Reactions

Probably water insoluble.

Reactivity Profile

FLUENETIL is a fluorinated ester. Esters react with acids to liberate heat along with alcohols and acids. Strong oxidizing acids may cause a vigorous reaction that is sufficiently exothermic to ignite the reaction products. Heat is also generated by the interaction of esters with caustic solutions. Flammable hydrogen is generated by mixing esters with alkali metals and hydrides.

Health Hazard

Fluenitil is highly toxic to mammals.

Potential Exposure

This material has been used as an acaricide and insecticide. Its main use was as a dormant spray for orchard fruit. It is no longer made or registered as a pesticide in the U.S.

Shipping

UN2588 Pesticides, solid, toxic, Hazard Class: 6.1; Labels: 6.1-Poisonous materials, Technical Name Required. UN2811 Toxic solids, organic, n.o.s., Hazard Class: 6.1; Labels: 6.1-Poisonous materials, Technical Name Required.

Incompatibilities

Incompatible with oxidizers (chlorates, nitrates, peroxides, permanganates, perchlorates, chlorine, bromine, fluorine, etc.); contact may cause fires or explo sions. Keep away from alkaline materials, strong bases, strong acids, oxoacids, epoxides. Moisture may cause mate rial to hydrolyze. Compounds of the carboxyl group react with all bases, both inorganic and organic (i.e., amines) releasing substantial heat, water and a salt that may be harmful. Incompatible with arsenic compounds (releases hydrogen cyanide gas), diazo compounds, dithiocarbamates, isocyanates, mercaptans, nitrides, and sulfides (releasing heat, toxic and possibly flammable gases), thiosulfates and dithionites (releasing hydrogen sulfate and oxides of sulfur).

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4301-50-2 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,3,0 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4301-50:
(6*4)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*0)=52
52 % 10 = 2
So 4301-50-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
