General Description

4-Allyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetraMethylpiperidine, also known as APTMP, is a chemical compound commonly used as an inhibitor in the formulation of water treatment chemicals. Its primary function is to inhibit the corrosion of metal surfaces in water systems by forming a protective film on the metal. APTMP is also used as a complexing agent in the synthesis of certain types of polymers and as a stabilizer in the production of organic peroxides. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a strong amine odor and is considered to be non-toxic and non-irritating when used in low concentrations.
