Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4654-16-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,6,5 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4654-16:
(6*4)+(5*6)+(4*5)+(3*4)+(2*1)+(1*6)=94
94 % 10 = 4
So 4654-16-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process for preparing esters

-

, (2008/06/13)

A process for preparing esters which comprises reacting a polycarboxylic acid with an alcohol, removing the unreacted alcohol from the resultant esterification reaction mixture, heating the crude ester at a temperature of 160° to 340° C., contacting the heat-treated crude ester with an adsorbent, and recovering the ester of high purity. The ester obtained has superior electrical insulation, transparency and thermal stability.
