Newer substituted benzoxazepinyl-quinazolinones as potent antipsychotic and anticonvulsant agents

3-Amino-[2′-substitutedaryl- 3′substitutedarylaminomethylene-2′,3′-dihydro- 1′,5′- benzoxazepin- 4′-yl]- 2- methyl-quinazolin- 4(3H)- ones 11-18 and 3-amino[2′-substituted aryl-3′-substitutedarylazo-2′,3′-dihydro-1′, 5′-benzoxazepin-4′-yl]-2-methyl-quinazolin-4(3H)-ones 19-26 were synthesized from 3-amino-[2′-substitutedaryl-2′,3′- dihydro-1′,5′-benzoxazepin-4′-yl]-2-methyl- quinazolin-4(3H)-ones 7-10 by Mannich's reaction and by diazotisation, respectively, on the 3rd position of the benzoxazepine ring of the compounds 7-10. The newly synthesized compounds showed potent antipsychotic and anticonvulsant activities.
Synthesis of potential quinazolinonyl pyrazolines and quinazolinyl isoxazolines as anticonvulsant agents

A series of 1-[3′-amino-2′-methyl-6′-monosubstitutedquinazolin- 4′(3′H)-onyl]-3-(arylidenyl)chalcones 3 have been synthesized via condensation of 3-acetylamino-2-methyl-6-monosubstitutedquinazolin-4(3H)-ones 2 with various aromatic aldehydes. Cycloaddition of hydrazine hydrate with 3 yields 1-acetyl-5-substitutedaryl-3-(3′-amino-2′-methyl-6′- monosubstitutedquinazolin-4′(3′H)-onyl]-2-pyrazolines 4 and cyclocondensation of hydroxylamine hydrochloride with 3 affords 5-substitutedaryl-3-[3′-amino-2′-methyl-6′- monosubstitutedquinazolin-4′-(3′H)-onyl]-isoxazolines 5. Compound 4g and 5g show most potent activity (90%) more potent than standard drug phenytoin sodium (80%).
