Catumaxomab, also known as Removab, is a bispecific trifunctional antibody (trAb) designed to induce efficient killing of epithelial tumor cells. It is an anti-Ep-CAM monoclonal antibody with an additional anti-CD3 arm that targets the T-cell antigen CD3, activating T cells to release cytotoxic cytokines and promote T cell-mediated lysis. The trifunctionality of catumaxomab is due to its intact Fc region, which selectively binds to FCg receptor-positive accessory cells, such as macrophages, dendritic cells, and natural killer (NK) cells, promoting phagocytosis and antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity. This trAb brings immune effector cells close to tumor cells, destroying those with the surface antigen Ep-CAM through the simultaneous activation and complex crosstalk of T cells and accessory immune cells.

509077-98-9 Usage

Uses

Used in Oncology:
Catumaxomab is used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of malignant ascites caused by Ep-CAM-positive metastatic epithelial-derived tumors. It is administered intraperitoneally (i.p.) and has gained approval for this specific application. Additionally, it is being evaluated for the treatment of ovarian and gastric cancers, showcasing its potential in various oncological applications.
Used in Immunotherapy:
Catumaxomab is used as an immunotherapeutic agent due to its ability to activate T cells and accessory immune cells, promoting a targeted immune response against tumor cells expressing the Ep-CAM antigen. This application type highlights the potential of catumaxomab in enhancing the body's immune system to fight cancer more effectively.
Used in Drug Delivery Systems:
While not explicitly mentioned in the provided materials, catumaxomab's unique structure and mechanism of action could potentially be utilized in the development of novel drug delivery systems. Its ability to target specific tumor cells and activate immune cells could be harnessed to improve the delivery, bioavailability, and therapeutic outcomes of other anticancer agents.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 509077-98-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 5,0,9,0,7 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 509077-98:
(8*5)+(7*0)+(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*7)+(3*7)+(2*9)+(1*8)=169
169 % 10 = 9
So 509077-98-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
