EHNA HYDROCHLORIDE, also known as erythro-9-(2-hydroxy-3-nonyl)adenine hydrochloride, is a potent inhibitor of phosphodiesterase II (PDE II) with an IC50 of 800nM. It selectively inhibits PDE II without affecting other PDE isozymes (IC50 > 100uM). EHNA HYDROCHLORIDE also inhibits the retrograde transport motor, dynein, and adenosine deaminase (Ki = 4nM). It is a white solid and has various applications in different industries.

51350-19-7 Usage

Uses

Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
EHNA HYDROCHLORIDE is used as a potent inhibitor of phosphodiesterase II (PDE II) for its selective inhibition of PDE II over other PDE isozymes. This selective inhibition makes it a valuable compound in the development of drugs targeting specific PDE II-related conditions.
Used in Cardiology:
EHNA HYDROCHLORIDE is used as a protective agent against cardiac reperfusion-mediated injury. By blocking the breakdown of adenosine to inosine and hypoxanthine, it prevents the formation of free radical substrates, thus protecting the heart during reperfusion.
Used in Cell Biology:
EHNA HYDROCHLORIDE is used as a regulator of differentiation and maintainer of pluripotency markers in human embryonic stem cells (hESCs). It does not achieve this through the inhibition of PDEs or ADA, but rather through other mechanisms that are yet to be fully understood.
Used in Neurobiology:
EHNA HYDROCHLORIDE is used as an inhibitor of the retrograde transport motor, dynein. This inhibition can be useful in studying the role of dynein in various cellular processes and may have potential applications in the treatment of neurological disorders.
Used in Enzyme Research:
EHNA HYDROCHLORIDE is used as an inhibitor of adenosine deaminase (ADA) with an IC50 of 1.2 and 1.5 μM in human red blood cells (RBCs) and astrocytoma cells, respectively. This inhibition can be useful in studying the role of ADA in various biological processes and may have potential applications in the development of therapies targeting ADA-related conditions.

Biological Activity

Selective inhibitor of cGMP-stimulated phosphodiesterase (PDE2) (IC 50 = 0.8 - 4 mM). Also a potent inhibitor of adenosine deaminase.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 51350-19-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,1,3,5 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 51350-19:
(7*5)+(6*1)+(5*3)+(4*5)+(3*0)+(2*1)+(1*9)=87
87 % 10 = 7
So 51350-19-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
