PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel manufacturing method of a polybutadiene rubber by reinforcing polybutadiene having a high cis-1,4-structure content obtained using a polymerization catalyst comprised of an yttrium compound having a bulky ligand with crystalline polybutadiene mainly composed of a syndiotactic 1,2-structure. ?SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the polybutadiene comprises cis-1,4-polymerizing 1,3-butadiene and subsequently syndiotactic 1,2-polymerizing 1,3-butadiene in the polymerization system, wherein a catalyst obtained from (A) the yttrium compound having a bulky ligand, (B) an ionic compound comprised of a non-coordinating anion and a cation and (C) an organometallic compound of an element selected from among group 2, 12 and 13 elements in the periodic table is used as the catalyst for the cis-1,4-polymerization and a catalyst system comprising a sulfur compound is used as the catalyst for the syndiotactic 1,2-polymerization. ?COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPOandINPIT ?
