The chemical "2-bromonaphthalene - picric acid complex" refers to a compound formed by the interaction between 2-bromonaphthalene, a halogenated aromatic compound, and picric acid, a trinitrophenol derivative. This complex is characterized by the formation of a charge-transfer complex, where 2-bromonaphthalene acts as an electron donor and picric acid acts as an electron acceptor. The resulting complex exhibits unique properties, such as increased solubility and stability, compared to the individual components. The formation of this complex is influenced by factors such as temperature, concentration, and solvent polarity, making it an interesting subject of study in the field of supramolecular chemistry and potentially useful in various applications, including the development of new materials and sensors.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5160-60-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,1,6 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5160-60:
(6*5)+(5*1)+(4*6)+(3*0)+(2*6)+(1*0)=71
71 % 10 = 1
So 5160-60-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A Computerised Least Square Method for Determination of Stability Constants of 1:1 Molecular Complexes and Chemical Shift of Pure Complexes from Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Data

Seal, B. K.,Mukherjee, A. K.

, p. 413 - 415 (2007/10/02)

A computerised method utilising nuclear magnetic resonance data has been developed for the determination of stability constants of 1:1 molecular complexes. It is based on the principle of least squares in which the coefficients are adjusted under a constraint with the help of Lagrange's method of undetermined multipliers. The method utilises the complete expression for equilibrium constant and is mathematically rigorous, straightforward, non-iterative and requires very little computer time.
