5165-81-1 Usage
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Naphthol AS-RS is used as a dyestuff for cotton, providing good fastness and color retention. Its high affinity to cotton makes it a preferred choice in the textile industry for dyeing processes.
Used in Chemical Industry:
In the chemical industry, naphthol AS-RS is used as a component in the production of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and glue. Its good fastness properties contribute to the overall performance and durability of these products.
Preparation
4-Chloro-2-methoxy-5-methylbenzenamine?in pyridine with?N-(4-chloro-2-methoxy-5-methylphenyl)-3-hydroxy-2-naphthamide condensation.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5165-81-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,1,6 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5165-81:
(6*5)+(5*1)+(4*6)+(3*5)+(2*8)+(1*1)=91
91 % 10 = 1
So 5165-81-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Fluorescent substrates for potential use in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay of membrane-bound nucleic acids

A number of phosphorylated fluorochromes were synthesized and tested for the alkaline phosphatase-linked fluorescence assay of membrane-bound nucleic acids. 3-Hydroxy-N-2′-biphenyl-2-naphthalenecarboxamide phosphate ester (HBNP) was found to be the most suitable for the assay. Nonfluorescent HBNP is hydrolyzed by phospholipase bound to the probe DNA to the highly fluorescent 3-hydroxy-N,2′-biphenyl-2-naphthalenecarboxamide (HBN). HBN is insoluble enough in aqueous medium to precipitate on the nylon membrane. Spots containing as little as 5 fg of λ DNA can be successfully detected on the membrane with HBNP.
