METELOIDINE is a tropane alkaloid that was first discovered by Pyman and Reynolds in Datura rneteloides. It is also found in D. ferox and the leaves of Erythroxylurn australe. METELOIDINE crystallizes from C6H6 in tabular needles and is soluble in CHC13 or EtOH but only slightly soluble in Et20, C6H6, or H2O. The hydrochloride form of METELOIDINE is obtained as chisel-shaped needles of the diliydrate, with a melting point of 250°C (dry). The aurichloride hemihydrate also forms needles, with a melting point of 149-150°C, the picrate has a melting point of 177-180°C, and the reineckate has a melting point of 140°C (dec.). Hydrolysis with Ba(OH)2 yields tiglic acid and teloidine, which can be characterized as the crystalline hydrochloride, hydrobromide, and aurichloride with respective melting points of >300°C, 295°C, and 225°C. The alkaloid is physiologically inactive.

Uses

Since the provided materials do not mention any specific applications or uses for METELOIDINE, it is not possible to list its uses based on the given information. However, it is important to note that the alkaloid is physiologically inactive, which may limit its potential applications in various industries. Further research and information would be required to determine any possible uses for METELOIDINE.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 526-13-6 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 5,2 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 526-13:
(5*5)+(4*2)+(3*6)+(2*1)+(1*3)=56
56 % 10 = 6
So 526-13-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
