5270-30-4 Usage
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
6-Selenopurine is used as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of cancer due to its ability to inhibit nucleoside phosphorylases, which are enzymes involved in the salvage pathway of nucleoside metabolism. This inhibition can lead to the disruption of nucleic acid synthesis, thereby affecting the proliferation of cancer cells.
6-Selenopurine is also used as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of viral infections. Its interference with nucleic acid metabolism can hinder the replication of viral genomes, thus limiting the spread of viral infections.
Used in Drug Development:
6-Selenopurine is used as a lead compound in the development of new anti-cancer and anti-viral drugs. Its unique chemical structure and biological activities make it a valuable starting point for the design and synthesis of novel therapeutic agents with improved efficacy and selectivity.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5270-30-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,2,7 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5270-30:
(6*5)+(5*2)+(4*7)+(3*0)+(2*3)+(1*0)=74
74 % 10 = 4
So 5270-30-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

6-(C2-6ALKYLSELENO)PURINES AND METHODS FOR TREATING NEURAL MEASLES VIRAL INFECTION THEREWITH
-
Page/Page column 14-15, (2009/12/28)
The present application relates to anti-viral selenopurine compounds of formula (I) : wherein R1 is C2-6alkyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, and prodrugs thereof. These 6-(C2-6alkylseleno)purine compounds find use in the treatment of neural measles virus infection and associated diseases (namely, multiple sclerosis or neural measles). A particularly preferred compound is ethylselenopurine or ESP.
