Diselenoacetals were obtained in good yields under mild conditions by treatment of benzeneselenol with enol ethers in the presence of boron trifluoride-diethyl ether; in the absence of Lewis Acid, monoseienoacetals were produced in good yields.

Monoselenoacetals were easily prepared from the corresponding acetals and tributyltin phenyl selenide (n-Bu3SnSePh) by the action of BF3*Et2O in fair to good yields.
