Several new 2 acyl 5(or 4)nitro pyrroles and 2 acyl 5 methylthio pyrroles, including some methylsulphones, were synthesized. These compounds were evaluated in vitro against a series of bacteria, fungi and protozoa. Structure activity relationships were discussed.
