Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 53515-20-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,3,5,1 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 53515-20:
(7*5)+(6*3)+(5*5)+(4*1)+(3*5)+(2*2)+(1*0)=101
101 % 10 = 1
So 53515-20-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

One-step conversion of alcohols into thioesters
Boeini, Hassan Zali,Mobin, Mehdi
supporting information; experimental part, p. 2861 - 2866 (2011/02/16)
A one-step conversion of alcohols into thioesters under solvent-free conditions is reported. The alcohols were reacted with primary thioamides in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid under solvent-free conditions to produce the corresponding thioesters in good to excellent yields.
