53801-63-1 Usage
Uses
Used in Chemical Synthesis:
ZINC-COPPER COUPLE is used as a reagent for the Simmons-Smith cyclopropanation reaction and the Reformatsky reaction. These reactions are essential in the synthesis of various organic compounds, contributing to the development of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and other specialty chemicals.
Used in Stereospecific Reduction:
ZINC-COPPER COUPLE is employed as a catalyst for the selective, stereospecific reduction of alkynes to cis-alkenes. This process is crucial in the production of specific isomers with desired properties, which are vital in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Used in Deiodination:
In the chemical industry, ZINC-COPPER COUPLE is used for the deiodination of iodotributylstannylalkanes. This reaction is essential for the synthesis of various organic compounds and the development of new materials.
Used in Fluorinated Aldehyde Synthesis:
In the presence of a free-radical initiator, ZINC-COPPER COUPLE promotes the formylation of perfluoroalkyl iodides with DMF (dimethylformamide) to give fluorinated aldehydes in high yield. These fluorinated aldehydes are valuable intermediates in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals.
Used in Dermatology:
ZINC-COPPER COUPLE is also utilized in the field of dermatology, where it plays a role in the treatment of various skin conditions and disorders. Its application in this field is based on its unique chemical properties and reactivity, which contribute to its therapeutic effects.
Synthesis
Zinc dust (9.8 g, 150 mmol) was added to nitrogen purged water (40 mL). The resulting slurry was then purged with nitrogen for 15 min. CuSO4 (0.75g, 4.7 mmol) was then added. The black slurry was fifiltered under nitrogen, washed with deoxygenated (nitrogen purged) water, acetone, and ether, and dried under vacuum. The couple can be stored indefifinitely in a Schlenk tube under nitrogen.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 53801-63-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,3,8,0 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 53801-63:
(7*5)+(6*3)+(5*8)+(4*0)+(3*1)+(2*6)+(1*3)=111
111 % 10 = 1
So 53801-63-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
