Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5409-75-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,4,0 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5409-75:
(6*5)+(5*4)+(4*0)+(3*9)+(2*7)+(1*5)=96
96 % 10 = 6
So 5409-75-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

AUTOOXIDATION OF BIS(2-CHLOROETHYL) ETHER

Zil'berman, I. E.,Kolesnikov, V. A.,Danov, S. M.,Efremov, R. V.,Afon'shin, G. N.

, p. 1889 - 1892 (2007/10/02)

The thermal dissocioation of the hydroperoxide of bis(2-chloroethyl) ether leads to the formation of 2-chloroethanol, acetaldehyde, chloroacetaldehyde, vinyl chloride, hydrogen chloride, 1,1-di(2-chloroethoxy)-2-chloroethane, and a peroxide compound.A mechanism is proposed for the thermal oxidative decomposition of bis(2-chloroethyl) ether.
