54510-89-3 Usage

Description

Entonox is a 50:50 mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide, created by bubbling oxygen through liquid nitrous oxide. This gas mixture exhibits unique properties due to the Poynting effect, where the gases dissolve into each other, resulting in a behavior that cannot be predicted from their individual properties. It is presented as a gas in French-blue cylinders with white and blue checked shoulders at a pressure of 137 bar when full. However, at temperatures below -7°C, Entonox can separate into its constituent parts due to the liquefaction of nitrous oxide, potentially leading to the delivery of a hypoxic mixture as the cylinder empties.

Uses

1. Used in Medical Applications:
a. Entonox is used as an inhalational anaesthetic agent in conjunction with a volatile agent for various medical procedures.
b. Entonox is used as an inhalational analgesic agent during labour to alleviate pain and discomfort for the patient.
c. Entonox is used for breakthrough pain when regional anaesthesia is used, such as tourniquet pain and during caesarean sections.
d. Entonox is used during painful short procedures, such as changing burns dressings, manipulating fractures/dislocations, and cleaning wounds in pediatric patients.
2. Used in Emergency Medicine:
a. Entonox is used as a rapid-acting analgesic agent in emergency medicine to provide immediate pain relief in critical situations.
3. Used in Dental Applications:
a. Entonox is used as a sedative and analgesic agent in dental procedures to help patients relax and manage pain during treatment.
4. Used in Outdoor and Wilderness Medicine:
a. Entonox is used as a portable and easily administered analgesic agent for pain management in outdoor and wilderness settings, where access to more advanced medical facilities may be limited.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 54510-89-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,4,5,1 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 54510-89:
(7*5)+(6*4)+(5*5)+(4*1)+(3*0)+(2*8)+(1*9)=113
113 % 10 = 3
So 54510-89-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
