55283-68-6 Usage
Chemical Properties
Yellow-orange crystalline solid. Mild amine
odor. Commercial products and mixtures may contain flammable carriers (such as xylene); these may be red-orange
liquids with a mild aromatic odor.
Agricultural Uses
Herbicide: Ethalfluralin is a selective herbicide used for the
pre-emergence control of annual grasses and broadleaf
weeds in certain food and feed crops. Ethalfluralin may be
used in growing a variety of grain, seed, and cucurbit crops.
The greatest amounts of ethalfluralin are used in growing
soybeans, dry beans, and sunflower seeds. Ethalfluralin is
used only outdoors, in agriculture; no residential uses were
registered. Not used in EU countries. Registered for use
in the U.S.

Incompatibilities
Sensitive to heat. Dintroanilines can be
explosive and are strong oxidizers. Contact with reducing
agents, other strong oxidizers or, nitrosylsulfuric acid may
cause fire or explosion
Waste Disposal
Do not discharge into drains
or sewers. Dispose of waste material as hazardous waste
using a licensed disposal contractor to an approved landfill.
Contact a licensed disposal facility about surplus and nonrecyclable solutions. Burn in a chemical incinerator
equipped with an afterburner and scrubber. Extra care must
be exercised as the material in an organic solvent is highly
flammable. Consult with environmental regulatory agencies
for guidance on acceptable disposal practices. Incineration
with effluent gas scrubbing is recommended. Containers
must be disposed of properly by following package label
directions or by contacting your local or federal environmental control agency, or by contacting your regional EPA
office. Do not reuse container
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 55283-68-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,5,2,8 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 55283-68:
(7*5)+(6*5)+(5*2)+(4*8)+(3*3)+(2*6)+(1*8)=136
136 % 10 = 6
So 55283-68-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synergistic herbicidal compositions comprising 4-benzoylisoxazole and dinitroaniline herbicides
-
, (2008/06/13)
The invention relates to synergistic compositions comprising: (a) a 4-benzoylisoxazole of formula (I) STR1 wherein R, R1, R2 and n are as defined in the specification; and (b) a dinitroaniline herbicide; and to the use of these compounds as herbicides.
Substituted pyridinesulfonamide compounds or their salts, process for preparing the same, and herbicides containing the same
-
, (2008/06/13)
A substituted pyridinesulfonamide compound or its salt represented by the following general formula (I): wherein R1 is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group; R2 is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted alkoxy group; and X and Y are each independently a member selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups and alkoxy groups, is disclosed. This compound is useful as the effective ingredient of a herbicide showing a wide weed-control spectrum even if used in a small amount.
