2-methylpropyl 4-(2-chlorophenyl)-6-methyl-2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate is a complex organic compound with the molecular formula C16H18ClN3O3. It is a derivative of pyrimidine, a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound consisting of a six-membered ring with four carbon atoms and two nitrogen atoms. The compound features a 2-methylpropyl group, a 2-chlorophenyl group, and a 6-methyl group attached to the pyrimidine core. The 2-oxo group indicates the presence of a carbonyl group (C=O) at the 2-position, and the carboxylate group (-COO-) is attached at the 5-position. This chemical is primarily used as an intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, particularly those with potential applications in the treatment of diseases and pest control. Its specific biological activity and properties depend on the target compounds it is used to synthesize.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5603-16-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,6,0 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5603-16:
(6*5)+(5*6)+(4*0)+(3*3)+(2*1)+(1*6)=77
77 % 10 = 7
So 5603-16-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Three bis-bidentate Schiff base ligands 1, 2 and 3 have been prepared and thoroughly characterized, and their complexation behavior with d10 silver, copper and zinc ions was studied. The coordination assembly of Cu(I) and Ag(I) with ligands 1 a

Recognition of Hg2+ ion through restricted imine isomerization: Crystallographic evidence and imaging in live cells

Mandal, Amal Kumar,Suresh, Moorthy,Das, Priyadip,Suresh,Baidya, Mithu,Ghosh, Sudip K.,Das, Amitava

, p. 2980 - 2983 (2012)

A newly synthesized imine-based receptor (L) showed remarkable specificity toward the Hg2+ ion in aqueous media over other metal ions. Coordination of L to Hg2+ induces a turn-on fluorescence response. This was explained based on the restricted imine isomerization along with PET on coordination to Hg2+. X-ray structural evidence tends to favor a C-C bond rotation rather than C=N isomerization for adopting a favorable conformation in L for coordination to Hg2+. This reagent could be used for imaging the accumulation of Hg2+ ions in HeLa cells.
