569-58-4 Usage
Uses
Used in Chemical Analysis:
Aluminon is used as a reagent for aluminum in solution, forming brilliantly colored lakes with aluminum, chromium, iron, and beryllium. It is generally used for the detection and colorimetric estimation of aluminum in water, foods, and tissues.
Used in Enzyme Inhibition:
Aluminon acts as a potent inhibitor of ribonuclease and topoisomerase II by preventing the binding of nucleic acid to the enzyme.
Used in Cellular Signaling:
Aluminon stimulates tyrosine phosphorylation processes, including the Jak2/STAT5 pathway in NB2 lymphoma cells, ErbB4 in neuroblastoma cells, and MAP kinases, Shc proteins, phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase, and phospholipase C in PC12 cells.
Used in Apoptosis Inhibition:
Aluminon inhibits apoptosis in many cell types, making it a potential candidate for therapeutic applications in various diseases and conditions.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Aurintricarboxylic acid readily polymerizes in aqueous solution, forming a stable free radical that inhibits protein-nucleic acid interactions. It is a potent inhibitor of ribonuclease and topoisomerase II by preventing the binding of the nucleic acid to the enzyme. It stimulates tyrosine phosphorylation processes including the Jak2/STAT5 pathway in NB2 lymphoma cells, ErbB4 in neuroblastoma cells, and MAP kinases, Shc proteins, phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase and phospholipase C in PC12 cells. Aurintricarboxylic acid inhibits apoptosis in many cell types. Its neuroprotective effect, perhaps due to its ability to prevent down-regulation of Ca2+ impermeable GluR2 receptors or to its ability to inhibit calpain, a Ca2+-activated protease that is activated during apoptosis.
Safety Profile
Human reproductive effects by ingestion: changes in male fertility. Experimental reproductive effects. Mutation data reported. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NH3 and NOx,.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 569-58-4 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 5,6 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 569-58:
(5*5)+(4*6)+(3*9)+(2*5)+(1*8)=94
94 % 10 = 4
So 569-58-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
