WAY 629 is a selective SR-2C agonist. Potent and efficacious 5-HT2C receptor agonists.

Biological Activity

Selective 5-HT 2C agonist. K i values are 56, 2350, 1575 and 815 nM for human recombinant 5-HT 2C , 5-HT 2A , 5-HT 6 and 5-HT 7 receptors respectively. Stimulates intracellular Ca 2+ mobilization in CHO cells expressing human 5-HT 2C receptors (EC 50 = 72 nM). Reduces food intake in rats.
