Uses

Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
(S)-(-)-Thiolactic Acid is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of (R)-(+)-Thiolactomycin (T350880), a natural product inhibitor of β-Ketoacyl-AcpM Synthase A (KasA). This application is significant because it targets the inhibition of mycolic acid synthesis, which is a major cell wall component of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a bacterium responsible for tuberculosis.
Additionally, (S)-(-)-Thiolactic Acid is used as an inhibitor of D-Aspartate oxidase (DDO), an enzyme involved in the metabolism of D-aspartate. This application is relevant in the development of drugs targeting neurological disorders and other conditions related to D-aspartate metabolism.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 57965-30-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,7,9,6 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 57965-30:
(7*5)+(6*7)+(5*9)+(4*6)+(3*5)+(2*3)+(1*0)=167
167 % 10 = 7
So 57965-30-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
