Satheesh,Raghavendra Kumar,Sharma,Lingaraju,Palakshamurthy,Raja Naika
, p. 1 - 9 (2016)
New Schiff base ligands were synthesized by condensation of 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethanamine with 2-hydroxy benzaldehyde (L1H) and 2′-hydroxy acetophenone (L2H) respectively. Reaction of L1H or L2H with Na

, p. 65 - 76 (2018)
A series of zinc complexes with a bidentate azomethine Schiff base ligands derived from 2-tosylaminobenzaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-, 2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzaldehydes, 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde and 3,4-dimethoxyphenylethylamine were synthesized by chemical and electrochemical methods. All compounds were characterized on the basis of C, H, N elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H NMR, UV-vis and photoluminescence studies. The local atomic structures of complexes were determined from analysis of EXAFS and XANES of Zn K-edges. The molecular structure of bis{2-[(E)-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethyliminomethyl]-4-methoxyphenol}zinc(II) was determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The fluorescence spectra show that these complexes in DMSO solutions at room temperature emit bright blue and green luminescence at 428–497 nm. The assignment and the nature of the bands in experimental UV–Vis spectra of complexes were analyzed using time-dependent (TD) DFT calculations. The azomethines and complexes of zinc have been screened for their antibacterial, protistocidal, and fungistatic activities against Penicillium italicum, Colpoda steinii, Escherichia coli 078 and Staphylococcus aureus P-209, and the results are compared with the activity of sulfadimethoxine, toltrazuril and fundazol.
Synthesis, structural characterization, antimicrobial and DNA binding studies of homoleptic zinc and copper complexes of NO Schiff bases derived from homoveratrylamine
Satheesh,Raghavendra Kumar,Shivakumar,Lingaraju,Murali Krishna,Rajanaika,Hosamani, Amar
, (2019/06/19)
Four new homoleptic zinc (1 and 2) and copper (3 and 4) complexes of two Schiff base ligands (L1H and L2H) derived from 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethan-1-amine (5), a dimethyl derivative of dopamine were synthesized. All four complexes
Half-sandwich Ru (II) complexes containing (N, O) Schiff base ligands: Catalysts for base-free transfer hydrogenation of ketones
Satheesh,Sathish Kumar, Pushpanathan N.,Kumara, P. Raghavendra,Karvembu, Ramasamy,Hosamani, Amar,Nethaji
, (2019/08/07)
Two new half-sandwich Ru (II)(p-cymene) complexes (1 and 2) containing dopamine-based (N, O) Schiff base ligands (L1H and L2H) were synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, UV–Visible and 1H & 13C NMR spectral techniques, and elemental analyses. The spectroscopic and analytical data revealed monobasic bidentate coordination of the ligands with Ru ion. The molecular structures of L1H, L2H and 2 were further confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction study. Complexes 1 and 2?have been employed as catalysts in the transfer hydrogenation of ketones using 2-propanol as a hydrogen source at 85?°C under base-free condition. Good to the excellent yield of secondary alcohols, gram scale synthesis, and high TON and TOF made this catalytic system interesting.
