Direct Red 69 is a red dye that is soluble in water, producing a cherry red color. It is not soluble in alcohol and exhibits acid and alkali resistance properties. When exposed to strong sulfuric acid, it turns purple and forms a purple precipitate upon dilution. The dye solution turns purple when strong hydrochloric acid is added and forms a purple precipitate. However, adding a thick sodium hydroxide solution does not cause any change.
