Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 59170-14-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,9,1,7 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 59170-14:
(7*5)+(6*9)+(5*1)+(4*7)+(3*0)+(2*1)+(1*4)=128
128 % 10 = 8
So 59170-14-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Tobacco Chemistry 81. Biotransformations of (Z)-Abienol using Plant Cell Cultures of Nicotiana silvestris

Enzell, Curt R.,Nasiri, Ahmad,Forsblom, Ingrid,Johansson, Eva,Lundberg, Charlotta,et al.

, p. 375 - 379 (2007/10/02)

The transformations of (Z)-abienol (1) effected by cell cultures and cell-free extracts of Nicotiana silvestris and by horseradish peroxidase have been examined.Although this compound retarded the growth of the cell cultures in low doses and exhibited a toxic effect in high doses, a fairly rapid conversion was observed when low to moderate doses of cells cultivated under light were used.Of the many transformation products encountered twelve were identified. The major ones of these were (12R,13S)- and (12R,13R)-8,12-epoxy-14-labden-13-ols (2,5), (11E)-14,15-bisnor-8-hydroxy-11-labden-13-one (11), 12-norambreinolide (10), 12,15-epoxy-12,14-labdadien-8-ol (12) and 8-drimanol (13), and the minor (12R,13R)-, (12S,13R)-, (12S,13S)- and (12R,13S)-8,13-epoxy-14-labden-12-ols (6-9) and (12S,13S)- and (12S,13R)-8,12-epoxy-14-labden-13-ols (3,4).Horseradish peroxidase also transformed (Z)-abienol into these products.
