Purification Methods
Purification is as for isoxanthopterin (see “Heterocyclic Compounds”, Chapter 4). It is crystallised by acidifying a hot ammoniacal solution with formic acid, and collecting the crystals by centrifugation followed by washing with EtOH, ether and drying at 100o in vacuo. Its RF values on paper chromatography are 0.15 (n-PrOH, 1% aqueous NH3, 2:1), 0.36 (n-BuOH/AcOH/H2O, 4:1:1) and 0.47 (3% aqueous NH3). Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5979-01-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,9,7 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5979-01:
(6*5)+(5*9)+(4*7)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*1)=131
131 % 10 = 1
So 5979-01-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
