The photolysis of 4-N,N-dialkylaminobenzene diazonium tetraphenylborates 1-11 in dichloromethane proceeds by an electron transfer between ion pairs forming radicals as primary products.Using e.s.r. spin trapping technique arenediazo, phenyl, 4-N,N-dialkylamino phenyl and substituted cyclohexadienyl radicals could be detected.
