The synthesis of amphiphilic diynes containing an ester group in the hydrophobic portion has been carried out by four different methods.The advantages and disadvantages of each are revealed.It was shown that the introduction of this group into the structure of diynes did not impair their ability to form monolayers, and it simplified their synthesis significantly.New data were obtained on features of the Cadiot-Chodkiewicz reaction involving long chain alkynes.
