Provided are alternative sources of ketone bodies for reducing or eliminating symptoms of Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also called Lou Gehrig's disease), Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, epilepsy and other diseases or disorders characterized by impaired glucose metabolism.
