6105-72-2 Usage
General Description
N,N,2-trimethylpropane-1,3-diamine, also known as TMPDA, is a chemical compound used primarily as a curing agent in the production of polyurethane coatings, adhesives, and sealants. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a faint amine odor, and is highly reactive due to the presence of two amine functional groups. TMPDA is a strong base and is commonly used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, as well as in the production of surface coatings for automotive and industrial applications. It is also used as an intermediate for the manufacture of various specialty chemicals and is considered to be relatively low in toxicity and is readily biodegradable.
