Triterpenoid saponins from Mollugo spergula
Sahu, Niranjan P.,Koike, Kazuo,Banerjee, Sukdeb,Achari, Basudeb,Nikaido, Tamotsu
, p. 1177 - 1182 (2001)
Two novel triterpenoid saponins belonging to a modified hopane group, spergulin A @(3-O-(β-D-xylopyranosyl 4-sulphate)-spergulagenin A@) (1) and spergulin B @(3-O-[α-rhamnopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-xylopyranosyl]-spergulatriol@) (4) were isolated from the aerial part of Mollugo spergula along with spergulacin (2) and spergulacin A (3). Their structures and relative stereochemistry were determined by a combination of 2D-NMR (COSY, TOCSY, HETCOR, NOESY and HMBC) and HR-FAB-MS analysis coupled with strategic chemical and enzymatic transformations.
New antifungal triterpenoid saponin from launaea pinnatifida cass
Yadava,Chakravarti
experimental part, p. 83 - 87 (2009/12/06)
A new triterpenoid saponin (compound 1), 3β-O-[α-L- rhamnopyranosyI-(l→3)-O-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-(l→3) -O-β-D-galactopyranosyl]-spergulatriol along with known compounds glutenol and hopenol-b have been isolated from the methanol soluble fraction of the defatted seeds of the plant and structurally elucidated by various colour reactions, chemical degradations and spectral analysis. Compound 1 shows antifungal activity against various fungi.
