Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 61841-48-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,1,8,4 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 61841-48:
(7*6)+(6*1)+(5*8)+(4*4)+(3*1)+(2*4)+(1*8)=123
123 % 10 = 3
So 61841-48-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Photoinduced phase transitions caused by photochromic reactions bring about a change in the state of matter at constant temperature. Herein, we report the photoinduced phase transitions of crystals of a photoresponsive macrocyclic compound bearing two azobenzene groups (1) at room temperature on irradiation with UV (365 nm) and visible (436 nm) light. The trans/trans isomer undergoes photoinduced phase transitions (crystal-isotropic phase-crystal) on UV light irradiation. The photochemically generated crystal exhibited reversible phase transitions between the crystal and the mesophase on UV and visible light irradiation. The molecular order of the randomly oriented crystals could be increased by irradiating with linearly polarized visible light, and the value of the order parameter was determined to be -0.84. Heating enhances the thermal cis-to-trans isomerization and subsequent cooling returned crystals of the trans/trans isomer. Melt, crystallize, and align by light: A macrocyclic compound bearing two azobenzene groups exhibits crystal-liquid-crystal phase transitions on irradiation with UV light (see figure). The photochemically generated crystal underwent reversible phase transitions between the crystal and the mesophase on UV and visible-light irradiation. The molecular order of the randomly oriented crystals could be increased by irradiating with linearly polarized visible light; the value of the order parameter was 0.84.
