Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 62039-76-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,2,0,3 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 62039-76:
(7*6)+(6*2)+(5*0)+(4*3)+(3*9)+(2*7)+(1*6)=113
113 % 10 = 3
So 62039-76-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Preparation of indole derivatives
-
, (2008/06/13)
An improved process for preparing indole derivatives of the formula, STR1 wherein R1 and R2 each are hydrogen, halogen, C1 -C3 alkyl, C1 -C3 alkoxy, nitro, cyano or trifluoromethyl, or when taken together, form methylenedioxy; R3 is hydrogen, halogen, C1 -C3 alkyl, C1 -C3 alkoxy, nitro, cyano or dimethylamino; and R4 is hydrogen or halogen, which comprises cyclizing a compound of the formula, STR2 wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are as defined above, with an acidic condensing agent. The indole derivatives of the formula (I) mentioned above are useful as a key intermediate for the preparation of benzodiazepines, which are useful as tranquilizers, muscle relaxants and the like.
