SOLUTION: The method for preparing a bisphosphine oxide represented by general formula (1) comprises steps of causing an organometallic reagent prepared from a halogenated compound represented by general formula (2) to react with a phosphorous compound represented by general formula (3) to form a phosphine oxide represented by general formula (4), and causing the phosphine oxide represented by general formula (4) to react with a phosphorous compound represented by general formula (5) or a phosphorous compound represented by general formula (6) in the presence of a catalyst.
