Used in the Polyurethane Industry:
2-(2-dimethylaminoethoxy)-N,N-dimethyl-ethanamine: 3-dimethylaminoprop anenitrile was used as a catalyst for the manufacture of flexible polyurethane foams. Its role was to facilitate the reaction process and improve the production efficiency.
However, the sale of this material was discontinued in 1978 after its use was linked to urological disorders among workers at several factories manufacturing these foams. This decision was made to protect the health and safety of workers in the industry.
