Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 6300-04-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,3,0 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6300-04:
(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*0)+(2*0)+(1*4)=55
55 % 10 = 5
So 6300-04-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Ester Saponification in Dipolar Aprotic Solvents: Role of Solvent-Solute Ground State Interactions

Chandrasekar, R.,Venkoba Rao, G.,Venkatasubramanian, N.

, p. 515 - 516 (2007/10/02)

The rates of hydrolysis of the aryl esters of 3-aminopropionates and phenyl 3-morpholinopropionate have been measured in aqueous ethanol and aqueous DMSO solvent media. The magnitude of rate acceleration in aq.DMSO as compared to aq. ethanolis much lower for above esters than that observed for aryl benzoates. The reduced rate acceleration in aq.DMSO is due to the solvation of the ground state of the ester by DMSO by interaction of the lone pair on the nitrogen of the ester with the DMSO dipole.
