A quantitative procedure for the hydrosilylation of allylic-SiMe 3 protected phenols with Et3SiH and Si-H terminated carbosilane dendrimers of first, second, and fourth generation was discussed. It was found that solvent polarity was not affecting the selectivity and a high concentration of reagents favored the C-silylation versus the two side reaction. It is observed that the organometallic unit retained the spectroscopic and chemical properties of the mononuclear counterparts. The analysis showed that the dendritic framework was inert and spectroscopically invariable to the changes produced in the periphery.
