Polyamide is a polymer made of continuous units in the molecular linkage that are bonded by amide groups, indicated by the chemical formula CO-NH. It can be formed through the polymerization of amino acids, the interaction of the carboxyl (CO2H) group with the amine (NH2) group, or through amino-acid derivatives. Polyamides are classified based on the frequency and number of phenyl rings in their structure, with aramids being those with about 85% or more amide groups bonded to phenyl rings, and nylon being categorized when the percentage is lower.

Uses

Used in Synthetic Polymer Production:
Polyamide is essential for the production of synthetic polymers such as nylon, plastics, and indispensable fibers.
Used in Fiber Industry:
A different category of polyamides is transformed into fibers, referred to as aromatic polyamides (amide polymers with recurrent phenyl rings in their structure) or aramids.
Used in Printing Industry:
Polyamide is used in the preparation of overprinting varnishes, paper inks, flexography printing inks, and gravure printing inks.
Used in Adhesives and Laminated Films:
Polyamide serves as a good adhesive on certain substrates, making it suitable for laminated films for bonding with metal foils and plastic films.

Properties

Polyamide is a transparent pale yellow granule which is soluble in alcohol. The compound also illustrates compatibility, intermiscibility and chemical stability with nitrocellulose. Inks that are made of polyamide resin have stronger water resistance, low freezing point, folding resistance, high glossiness and good solvent release properties. The addition of polyamide resin to pigment additives enhances the color of the product and its gloss.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 63428-84-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,3,4,2 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 63428-84:
(7*6)+(6*3)+(5*4)+(4*2)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*4)=132
132 % 10 = 2
So 63428-84-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
