The charge-transfer (CT) complexes of substituted 3-aminomethylbenzimidazole-2-thiols 1a-h as donors with tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) as ?-acceptors were studied spectrophotometrically.The stability constants of the complexes were affected by substituents and solvent polarities as well as the thermodynamic properties likewise ΔG, ΔH and ΔS.Key words: Arylaminoethylbenzimidazolethiols, TCNE, CT-complexation, thermodynamic properties.
