3-(4-pyridyl)cyclohex-2-en-1-one oxime is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C11H11NO, also known as nicotinoylaldoxime or nioxime. It is an oxime derivative of nicotinoyl aldehyde, commonly used as a chelating agent in analytical chemistry to form stable complexes with metal ions. It is also used in pharmacology as a chelating agent for the treatment of metal poisoning, particularly for the chelation therapy of heavy metal toxicity. Additionally, 3-(4-pyridyl)cyclohex-2-en-1-one oxime has been studied for its antioxidant properties and its potential application in the protection against oxidative stress-related diseases.
