Alkyltrichlorosilanes RSiCl3 (R = Me, ClCH2, Et) were brought into reaction with tris(2-hydroxyalkyl)amines (HOCHR1CR2R3)n (HOCH2CH3)3-nN (R1 = H, Me, CF3CH2, C3F7CH2; R2 = H, Me, Et; R3 = H, Me; n = 1-3) to obtain the corresponding exo-C-substituted 1-alkylsilatranes RSi(OCHR1CR2R3)n(OCH 2CH2)3-nN in 50-97% yield. The reaction of 2-hydroxyalkylamines with vinyl or phenyltrichlorosilanes involves cleavage of the Si-C bond, resulting in formation 1-chloro-substituted silatranes in 50-95% yield. According to 1N and 13C NMR data, the presence of two methyl groups in position 4 of the silatrane nucleus does not hinder conformational transformations in the latter.
