The invention relates to a diamine derivative and a preparing method thereof. The diamine derivative is mainly obtained through addition reaction of a corresponding aryl azo compound and a corresponding aryl phosphorus oxide compound. The diamine derivative can serve as a ligand of a metal catalyst to increase the yield of a coupling product generated after coupling reaction catalyzed by the metal catalyst.
