The reaction of sulfur dichloride with 1,5-hexadiene leads to a mixture of cis-2,5-dichloromethylthiophane and 2-chloromethyl-5-chlorothiane (60:40), which undergoes irreversible isomerization at 20 deg C to a thermodynamically stable mixture with the reverse ratio (35:65) of thiacyclanes.Some reactions of the thiacyclanes which confirm their structures were investigated.
